On Friday, the Supreme Court declined to consider a plea for examination of the software utilized in electronic voting machines (EVMs). A bench led by Chief Justice of India D Y Chandrachud remarked that this issue pertained to a "policy matter" and asserted that making the software's source code publicly available would render EVMs vulnerable to hacking.
