Saracens Sack Academy Star Totoa Auvaa, 21, over Incident in St Albans
The 21-year-old academy player left after the club said his conduct fell short of the standards expected on and off the pitch.
On Monday, Saracens sacked academy player Totoa Auvaa following an incident in Albans early Sunday morning, stating his conduct falls short of expected standards.
Hertfordshire Police are investigating an altercation occurring between 2:15am and 2:20am Sunday on Peter Street in Albans, where it is alleged a man in his 20s was punched.
This dismissal follows a separate nightclub altercation four months ago involving England cricket stars Gus Atkinson and Ben Stokes, for which Auvaa previously escaped formal sanctions.
While Saracens previously described Auvaa's behavior as regrettable and remained supportive, the club now emphasizes its commitment to upholding behavioral standards across the organization.
Saracens hooker Jamie George had previously called Auvaa's actions unacceptable, noting the young player needed role models; the club will make no further comments until police enquiries conclude.
