A man was shot dead on Thursday night after allegedly pointing a gun at officers during a welfare check in the San Leandro Navy, police reported. The San Leandro Police Department (SLPD) reported that the officers responded at 8:07 p.m., after receiving a request to verify the condition of a man who, according to the reports, had made suicidal statements to a friend who was said to be depressed.
