SOUTH KOREA, JUL 22 – Samsung Display increased foldable screen durability to 500,000 folds, equating to over 10 years of average use, verified by Bureau Veritas in independent tests.
- On July 22 in Seoul, Samsung Display said its latest foldable OLED panel passed a 500,000-fold durability test, demonstrating advances in flexible display technology.
- Boosting confidence, Samsung Display set its benchmark at 500,000 folds, 2.5 times higher than before.
- Samsung Display explained that a bulletproof glass-inspired shock-resistant structure, a 50% thicker Ultra Thin Glass cover and a high-elastic adhesive delivering fourfold impact recovery underpin the panel’s durability.

On July 9, the South Korean tech giant held its Galaxy Unpacked 2025 event. During the event, the company unveiled three new foldable phones and its new smartwatch series.
