Second Trailer: "Ali G: Who Iz I?"
The comedy marks Cohen’s return to Ali G after 20 years and adds Borat and Erran Morad to the cast.
- Amazon MGM Studios premiered the second trailer for Sacha Baron Cohen's new film, "Ali G: Who Iz I?," opening exclusively in theaters for one weekend on October 23.
- After twenty years of absence, the satirical character Ali G returns in Cohen's directorial debut, following his trip to America to reclaim his glory after discovering his girlfriend, Julie, is pregnant.
- Adopting a mockumentary style, the film features returning characters like Borat and Mossad agent Erran Morad, who appears teaching a self-defense class to a group of MAGA guys in the trailer.
- The film is restricted from showing in Picturehouse theaters over claims the character is objectionable, creating a hurdle for the studio's theatrical rollout.
- Following the limited theatrical window, the movie is expected to stream on Amazon Prime, as critics compare this directorial effort to Cohen's Oscar-nominated "Borat Subsequent Moviefilm" from six years ago.
