Haeran Ryu Wins the Women's PGA Championship for Her First Major Title
Ryu Hae-ran rallied from 10 shots back after the first round and earned $1.95 million in her first LPGA major victory.
On Sunday, June 28, 2026, Ryu Hae-ran captured her maiden LPGA major title, winning the KPMG Women's PGA Championship at Hazeltine National Golf Club in Chaska, Minnesota, by two strokes over Yoon Ina with a 13-under 275.
Ryu, the 2023 LPGA Tour Rookie of the Year, became the first player in at least 60 years to rally from a 10-plus-shot opening round deficit to win a major championship.
Shooting a final round of 70, the 25-year-old South Korean claimed the $1.95 million prize after overcoming a 3.5-hour weather delay and challenging wind conditions.
Brooke Henderson and Dewi Weber tied for third at 10 under, while Nelly Korda finished in a four-way tie for eighth, failing to secure her third consecutive major of the season.
This victory marks the first time Ryu successfully closed out a major after entering the final round with a lead, adding to her four career wins across her first four LPGA Tour seasons.
