Defense forces don't confirm Russian withdrawal from Kinburn Spit – Voloshyn
Information suggesting that Russia is withdrawing its troops from the Kinburn Spit in the Mykolaiv region is currently unconfirmed, spokesperson for the Southern Defense Forces Vladyslav Voloshyn has said in a comment to Interfax-Ukraine.
Russian troops operating on the Kinburn Spit, a sandy spit on the left bank of the Dnieper estuary, are under great pressure from Ukrainian drone attacks on supply routes. They are short of ammunition. According to Ukrainian partisans, some units from the 337th Airborne Regiment have already withdrawn and been relocated to Zaporizhia.
In southern Ukraine, specifically the Kinburn Isthmus, which the Russians have occupied since 2022, the occupations are facing major logistical problems due to attacks by Ukrainian drones and, according to information, they are forced to abandon this important bridgehead, writes the U.S. Ukrainian agency.
Social media channels are sharing a message from the Ukrainian partisan group Atesh operating in Crimea, according to which Russian airborne units have begun withdrawing from the northern and western parts of the Kinburn Spit.
