Patriarch Kirill, the head of the Russian Orthodox Church, has assigned Metropolitan Hilarion — recently suspected of drug smuggling in the Czech Republic — to the Argentine and South American Diocese.
According to a statement from the Russian Orthodox Church, Hilarion is no longer able to continue his ministry in the Czech Republic, so two Brazilian churches have been assigned to him.
After his arrest and return to the Russian Federation, he was sent to serve in the largest drug-transshipment hab.
An expert examination confirmed that the white powder found in the car of Russian Metropolitan Hilarion was cocaine. The clergyman of the Russian Orthodox Church in the Czech Republic was detained by police on the D6 highway on May 24. However, they released him after two days and the clergyman traveled to Moscow.
