The appeal hearing for Vojslav Torden, who was sentenced to life imprisonment for war crimes in Ukraine in 2014, has begun in Helsinki. The Russian was charged with, among other things, participating in an ambush against Ukrainian soldiers. The defense claims Torden's role was limited to propaganda and recruitment. He was arrested in Finland in August 2023.
