This was announced on November 12 by Secretary of State Marco Rubio following a meeting of the foreign ministers of the G7 countries in the Canadian province of Ontario.
"Well, we don't really have much left to sanction. We hit their biggest oil companies, which is what everyone was asking for," Rubio said.
The United States has already sanctioned Russia's largest oil companies, leaving little other weapon to cripple the Russian economy, Secretary of State Marco Rubio said in an interview.
