Programmed search of Nanterre in the modern era in the park of the Old Town Halls (Nanterre – Hauts-de-Seine). A royal college in the heart of the village of Nanterre (1642-1797)

Summary by Inrap
In 1642, the abbey of Sainte-Geneviève in Paris had a college built in the village of Nanterre, the development of which would lead to an urban, economic and social upheaval. The excavations undertaken between 2022 and 2024 not only documented this religious ensemble, which had been dismantled at the time of the Revolution, but also gave an unprecedented view of the village's pre-collège habitat. This project enriched our knowledge of a poorly known phase of the nanterrian history, the modern period.
