Fire damages camper near Treasure Beach ahead of storm

A fire broke out at Treasure Beach Campground on the night of Jan. 24, damaging a camper and threatening nearby units just as fire crews were preparing for the major winter storm.

Roxana & Bethany Beach Firefighters Battle Camper Fire

Firefighters from Roxana were called for a fire at the Treasure Beach Camp Ground off Route 54 just after 9 Saturday night. Crews arriving at the scene found a fully involved camper.  The alarm was upgraded and Bethany Beach VFC was alerted and assisted with the overhaul of that camper. No injuries were reported and the State Fire Marshal is investigating. Firefighters were on the scene for just over an hour.
