Thousands Set to Take to Streets for Orange Order Parades
Thousands are set to march in 18 demonstrations, with about 600 bands and acts of remembrance marking the Battle of the Boyne anniversary.
Tens of thousands are participating in parades across 18 locations in Northern Ireland on Monday, July 13, 2026, commemorating the 336th anniversary of the Battle of the Boyne.
Orange Order Grand Master Harold Henning said the significance is 'underlined by the scale of the parades,' which feature more than 1,000 lodges and around 600 marching bands stretching back 230 years.
While most traditional bonfires passed without issue, authorities condemned a replica mosque placed on a bonfire in Moygashel, and a man died Saturday after falling from a loyalist bonfire in east Belfast.
Alliance MLA Stewart Dickson called for bonfire regulation, stating 'there really does need to be regulation' because many sites lack landowner permission and are 'illegal under any concept of that term.'
The Police Service of Northern Ireland is conducting one of its largest annual operations today to facilitate the parades, causing traffic disruption throughout Belfast and Derry City.
