Root Cellar founders sell grocery store chain, launch employee ownership model

The founders of the Root Cellar grocery store chain in Greater Victoria have sold their business, which is moving to an employee-owned model. The grocery store chain has two locations, with the first one opening at the corner of McKenzie Avenue and Blenkisop Road in February 2008.  The second location opened along Cook Street in the former Oxford Foods grocery store in 2021.
