Michael Eric Shirah, 48 of Rome, was arrested this week after reports said he beat a 48 year-old woman on the back of the head with an unknown object. Reports stated that the victim suffered a large laceration and lots of blood loss from the strike(s). Shirah then proceeded to grab the victim by a man by the throat and choked him until he could not longer breathe. Source
