Keane Reported to Have Stepped Down as Ferencvaros Boss
Hungarian reports say the former Republic of Ireland striker is leaving after winning one league title and one cup in 18 months.
Following reports in Hungary, Robbie Keane has "resigned" as head coach of Ferencvaros. The former Irish striker is among the leading candidates to take over the permanent managerial position at Parkhead.
Keane secured the Hungarian league title and the Hungarian Cup in 2026, but the club finished a point behind ETO FC GyQr this season, missing the title for the first time in eight years.
Slovakian club Slovan Bratislava has identified Keane as a target, with CEO Ivan Kmotr expressing interest in a meeting. The Irishman remains a potential alternative for the permanent position at Parkhead.
Interim boss Martin O'Neill remains in contention for the permanent role and expects talks with major shareholder Dermot Desmond in the near future.
Keane brings experience from Maccabi Tel Aviv and the Republic of Ireland to his next potential role, while other candidates like Jens Berthel Askou are off the table after joining Toulouse.
