The French far-right party Rassemblement National (RN) has, for the first time since its founding, enough seats to form a parliamentary group in the Senate together with its ally UDR. Party chairman Jordan Bardella announced this following the elections for the upper house.
The National Assembly, which entered the Senate for the first time in 2014, went from the current three senators to more than ten in the closed elections.
