- On September 10, 2025, the MAHA Commission released the Make Our Children Healthy Again Strategy, chaired by U.S. Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr., outlining over 120 initiatives including autism and vaccine injury research.
- The commission found ultra-processed diets, chemical exposures, chronic stress and inactivity, and overmedicalization as primary drivers of childhood chronic disease, while a leaked draft around August 18 previewed focus on defining ultra-processed foods and targeting pesticides.
- Susan Mayne said, 'the plan for how to execute it and the resources for how to get that done are actually going in the opposite direction. And so that concerns me.'
- Tuesday, the report received a mixed reception as the scientific community and child health experts criticized it, while agriculture and livestock groups, including the National Cattlemen’s Beef Association, welcomed its regulatory flexibility and support for animal protein.
- NIH will be directed to build a Real World Data Platform linking health records to study autism, while Robert F. Kennedy Jr. called the plan a 'starting point' for recasting vaccine-injury reporting and stronger reforms.
