Revealed by Hackers – Now the Verdict Falls on the Fraudsters

In just a few months, the fraud network defrauded Swedish pensioners of millions of kronor. It was revealed when a hacker intervened and then contacted SVT's Uppdrag granskning. Now three men and a woman have been sentenced.

In six months, they defrauded pensioners of 45 million kronor, according to the police investigation. Two of the main characters in the fraud network were 18 and 19 years old. But a hacker intervened and recorded both computer movements and conversations that were sent to Uppdrag Granskning. Now, just over a year later, the verdict comes.

The 36-year-old man, who was previously convicted of fraud using an information system, has now been imprisoned, choosing to hide instead of behind bars.
