UK Italian Restaurant Chain Falls Into Administration
Administrators shut the chain’s remaining five central London sites and made 101 staff redundant after years of rising costs and difficult trading conditions.
Spaghetti House closed all restaurants after Lavval Restaurants Limited entered administration, ending 70 years of service to London customers.
Executive Chairman Luigi Lavarini attributed the closure to "years of increasing costs" from the pandemic, Brexit, and "global instability," creating "difficult" conditions for hospitality.
All 101 staff members were made redundant as administrators shut the remaining five central London sites, with three locations previously closed in Mayfair, Goodge Street, and Fitzrovia.
Lavval Restaurants Limited appointed corporate finance specialist BTG as administrators to manage the controlled wind down, with partner Asher Miller citing the "difficult" decision.
Founded by Simone Lavarini and Lorenzo Fraquell in 1955, the family-owned chain expressed "deepest gratitude" to loyal customers and partners for their support over seven decades.
