SPD: Jusos in several federal states against the coalition agreement - Global Happenings

The Social Democrats are meeting in Hanover to launch their membership vote on the coalition agreement. It quickly becomes clear that this time it will not be a short decision. Boris Pistorius is giving his future Chancellor a lecture on the political handling of cruise missiles.

The party leadership around Lars Klingbeil warns against a rejection of the coalition agreement by the SPD members, whose questioning starts this Tuesday. Jusos are dissatisfied with the outcome of the negotiations.

According to individual regional associations of the Jusos, their federal executive has now also rejected the coalition agreement of SPD and Union. Juso chairman Türmer told RTL and ntv that the agreement was the wrong way to go in the areas of migration policy, labour and social affairs.

Seven ministries, minimum wage of 15 euros, tax reduction: the SPD has made a lot of progress in the negotiations with the Union, but that is not enough for everyone in the party.

In the end, the coalition negotiations between the Union and the SPD are rather silent. Now the parties have to agree to the treaty. This becomes a challenge for the SPD. More and more regional associations of the Jusos oppose it. Federal boss Türmer says RTL/ntv: "Our vote is rejection".
