Missouri Governor Signs Bill Creating Clay County Sports Complex Authority

CLAY COUNTY, MISSOURI, JUL 11 – The Kansas City Royals pursue a new stadium deal following Clay County's Sports Authority approval, aiming to develop an entertainment district in North Kansas City.

NORTH KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- If the Royals are looking to move to Clay County, county leaders may now be able to offer them something Jackson County voters rejected. Missouri Governor Mike Kehoe was in North Kansas City Friday evening to sign House Bill 199.It allows Clay County to create a Sports Complex Authority. The measure will allow Clay County to put a stadium sales tax to a vote, similar to the one Jackson County voters rejected last year. …
