- Retired couple Pamela and Alistair Thompson's Wollemi pine bore fruit this month in Wichenford.
- Wollemi pines, dating back over 90 million years, were discovered in 1994 after thought extinct.
- The couple planted their 18-inch sapling in 2010 after buying it for £70.
- "I saw a small tree for sale for more than 1,000," one person stated.
- They will open their garden May 4 hoping to collect seeds to propagate the endangered species.
