Renault posts H1 loss of $12.78 billion
PARIS — Renault reported a first-half (H1) net loss attributable to the group of 11.19 billion euros ($12.78 billion) on Thursday, including a one-off 9.3 billion euros from writing down its investment in partner Nissan flagged earlier this month.
The figure can impress: EUR 11.18 billion in losses in the first half of 2025 for Renault! But these poor financial results are mainly due to the accounting treatment of its shareholding in Nissan, its former ally, and its deconsolidation. However, the new boss François Provost wants to be confident and announces a self-recovery group with a plan of savings.
