On November 24, 1981, at the intersection of Kalvarijų and Žalgirio streets in Vilnius, priest and dissident Bronislovas Laurinavičius was hit by a truck and killed. The circumstances of his death remain shrouded in mystery to this day. It is suspected that it was the work of the KGB.
