Months after the state suspended the Bessemer School Board for dysfunction and “dilapidated” school facilities, the city system is preparing for an election.In the upcoming August 25 city election, Bessemer residents will be voting for multiple positions, including who will sit on the city school board. The election will fill all seven seats on the school board following the district’s placement under state intervention in 2024.
