According to official data, salaries rose 2.5 per cent in the private sector and 2.3 per cent in the state, compared with inflation of 2.8 per cent in that month.
The recent report by Indec, published on Thursday, showed that registered wages grew by 2.4% in April, compared to inflation of 2.8%, consolidating a new drop in purchasing power in Argentina. Registered private sector salaries rose by 2.5%, while public sector salaries barely reached 2.3%, both insufficient to counter price rises.
The INDEC Wage Index recorded a general increase in assets relative to inflation in April 2.8 per cent, but in the registered, private (2.5 per cent) and public (2.3 per cent) segments, they fell below the price increase measured by the CPI.
