Regional Health Directorate issues epidemiological alert for pertussis in Piura

They confirm detection of pertussis in a minor in Piura. In addition, five probable cases are recorded, so the epidemiology alert was activated before possible propagation.

In view of the imminent risk of pertussis, the Regional Health Directorate (Diresa) Piura issued Epidemiological Alert No. 002-2025, in order to strengthen surveillance, preparedness and response to this highly contagious disease, which mainly affects infants and children under one year of age.
