Red Bull RB17 to debut with Adrian Newey at the wheel at Goodwood
Adrian Newey will drive the track-only hypercar as Red Bull validates its 1,200bhp performance ahead of a 50-car production run.
- Red Bull Racing will debut the £5 million RB17 hypercar at the Goodwood Festival of Speed this weekend, with designer Adrian Newey, Isack Hadjar, and Yuki Tsunoda piloting the vehicle up the iconic hillclimb.
- Built without Formula racing rules, the track-only RB17 features a naturally aspirated Cosworth V10 engine capable of 15,000rpm, reflecting more than five years of development to achieve Formula 1-inspired performance levels.
- Production is limited to 50 models, each weighing under 900kg and producing more than 1200bhp, though the car will not run at full performance during this weekend's display, with full testing set for later in the year.
- Alongside the RB17, Red Bull will showcase "fan-favourite liveries" from its history, including the RB1 and championship-winning RB9, while driver Alisha Palmowski will compete in her F1 Academy entry.
- Red Bull Racing CEO Laurent Mekies called the debut a "very special moment" celebrating the team's engineering excellence, noting the RB17 will undergo further validation in a "track environment" later this year.
