- Approximately one in five NHS operations in England are performed in private settings, up from 8% before the Covid-19 pandemic, as reported by the IHPN.
- David Hare, chief executive of the IHPN, stated that the independent sector plays a vital role in delivering NHS care and aims to help the Government meet patient treatment targets.
- The NHS waiting list for routine hospital treatment in England fell to its lowest level in two years, with 7.39 million treatments pending at the end of April, down from 7.42 million treatments at the end of March.
