The government spent 654 billion won to support private companies with new equipment to replace outdated gear in order to prevent industrial accidents, but it was revealed that 77% of the recipient companies kept the new equipment while continuing to use their old gear or selling it to other companies. Furthermore, 60% of the smart safety equipment provided by the government at a cost of 81.7 billion won was not being properly utilized.
