Toddler Kitchen Step Stools Sold on Target, Amazon Recalled After Tip-over Risk

Tomy has received 11 instability reports, and the company will provide a free stabilizing repair part, officials said.

  • On Thursday, the Consumer Product Safety Commission announced a recall of about 116,908 Boon PIVOT Collapsible Toddler Tower Kitchen Step Stools sold in the United States, plus approximately 2,033 units in Canada, citing tip-over hazards.
  • TOMY, the product importer, received 11 reports of towers becoming unstable, shifting, or leaning while in use. The instability prompted the recall despite no injuries being reported to date.
  • The gray and white metal-and-plastic towers measured about 22 inches wide, 23 inches deep and 35 inches tall, and were sold on Target, Amazon and Babylist from January 2023 through June 2026 for about $150.
  • Consumers are urged to stop using the recalled towers immediately and store them away from children until repairs are completed. TOMY will mail free stabilizing repair parts and instructions to anyone who requests them.
  • Affected consumers across the United States and Canada can contact TOMY toll-free at 866-725-4407, email cs@tomy.com, or visit the company's recall webpage to request repair assistance.
