UNITED STATES, JUN 12 – Anker recalls 1.15 million PowerCore 10000 power banks after 19 reports of fires and explosions causing minor injuries and $60,700 in property damage, urging immediate consumer action.
- Anker recalled more than 1,158,000 PowerCore 10000 power banks, model A1263, due to fire hazards linked to lithium-ion battery overheating as of June 2025.
- The recall was issued after at least 19 incidents involving fires or explosions, along with two cases of minor burn injuries and 11 property damage claims exceeding $60,700, all linked to defective power banks sold between 2016 and 2022.
- Anker distributed the affected power banks through its own online store as well as major retailers like Amazon, Newegg, and eBay between mid-2016 and the end of 2022. Customers who provide a photo of their recalled charger can receive either a $30 gift card or a replacement unit, while supplies last.
- The U.S. safety oversight agency urges consumers to discontinue use of the recalled devices right away and to take them to local household hazardous waste facilities for safe disposal, in order to reduce the risk of fire.
