Istrian workers and tourists from Italy are protesting against the Slovenian vignette for the shortest section of the motorway. Slovenian politician Meira Hot has launched an initiative to have it abolished.

Due to the high cost, many choose local, bypass roads, which creates additional congestion and dissatisfaction among the local population.
