The man who pleaded guilty to starting the Camp House Fire, which caused destruction to 150 cabins and homes, was ordered to pay $190 in fines and fees. Let that sink in for a moment. Apparently, county attorneys and judges do not believe in consequences. Reminds me of the “Matters of Record” section in the News Tribune, where it seems the majority of punishments are reported as “stayed” and only some minimal consequence is ever delivered. What …
