I am a longtime resident of what is currently called César E. Chávez Boulevard. I am dismayed — though not surprised — that neither I nor my fellow residents were given a voice in the current street renaming process, which follows sexual misconduct accusations against Chávez, the once revered cofounder and president of the United Farmworkers Union, (“Portland leaders launch fast-track renaming of César E. Chávez Boulevard,” May 26).
