Rashmika Mandanna Shuts Down Trolls For Proposing Vijay 100 Times, 'Yes, I Am Obsessed With My Man'
The couple filed a formal complaint with authorities regarding online harassment, citing the 100-fold proposal remark as a catalyst for widespread fabricated narratives, their legal team said.
- On Monday, actors Rashmika Mandanna and Vijay Deverakonda filed a formal complaint with Cyber Crime authorities in Hyderabad, seeking an investigation into fabricated online narratives and coordinated harassment targeting them across social media.
- Following the couple's October 21 appearance on Koffee With Karan, criticism intensified after Deverakonda revealed Mandanna asked him to marry her '100 times' before he agreed, triggering widespread online debate and mockery.
- Addressing the scrutiny, Mandanna slammed the 'angry mob' in a lengthy statement, while Deverakonda reposted a satirical video mocking online 'red flag' behavior analysis with the caption, "Needs subtitles."
- The actors' team emphasized that while they respect freedom of speech, they differentiate between personal opinions and the deliberate circulation of fabricated, misleading claims presented as established fact.
- Authorities are now examining the submitted evidence as the team seeks accountability through lawful channels, urging social media users to exercise caution rather than circulating unverified claims about the couple.
