Rami Al Ali’s Couture: At First Light
Dear Shaded Viewers, For Autumn/Winter 2026–2027, Rami Al Ali looks to the first light of day as a symbol of continuity and renewal. Inspired by the sunrise over the desert and the waters of the Gulf, the collection reflects on the cultural ties that have shaped the Arab world for centuries. Craftsmanship, architecture, poetry, music, and shared memory become quiet threads running through each silhouette, offering a meditation on resilience in times of uncertainty. The designer balances sculptural precision with graceful movement, allowing each garment to unfold with remarkable ease. Embroidery traces delicate paths across the body like fragments of inherited stories, while shimmering surfaces capture the changing light of dawn. The palette follows the same progression, moving from soft sand and ivory to warm amber, champagne, and subtle metallic tones that recall the horizon as morning begins. “Threads of Light: A New Dawn” proposes a contemporary reading of regional heritage without looking to the past through nostalgia. Traditional couture techniques are reinterpreted with clarity and restraint, creating pieces that acknowledge history while embracing the present. Every look carries a sense of connection, linking generations through the enduring language of craftsmanship. Rami Al Ali suggests that beauty can endure through uncertainty, sustained by memory, identity, and the human desire to move forward. Like the first rays of sunlight breaking across the landscape, these creations offer a quiet reminder that every new day begins with hope. All photos by Alessandro Lucioni. Yours digitally, Pedro
