Just over an hour before the freight train derailed in Bollebygd, a train driver reported a suspected sun curve on the route. The Swedish Transport Administration carried out an inspection, but found no faults. The derailment occurred shortly afterwards. – There will be a thorough investigation of the incident, says Hanna Ekberg, section manager for railway maintenance at the Swedish Transport Administration.
