Russian President Vladimir Putin will meet representatives of several Central Asian countries at a summit in Tajikistan on Thursday. In the capital Dushanbe he will meet state leaders of the five former Soviet republics Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan. All five states maintain close cultural and economic relations with Russia. The summit is the second of this kind since the collapse of the Soviet Union.
