With a tangle of purchasing power measures, the cabinet is taxing away wage increases for workers. So far, nothing has come of the promise that working more should pay off more. In fact, the tax burden on this is actually increasing.
Higher taxes are the main reason that purchasing power will fall slightly on average for almost all groups next year (0.1 percent). At the end of August, the minority cabinet decided to release extra money to mitigate that decline somewhat.
