Public service media does not harm commercial news publishers, study finds
A new pan-European study commissioned by the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) has found that publicly funded online content produced by public service media (PSM), such as Lithuania’s national broadcaster LRT, does not negatively impact the revenues or audience size of commercial news publishers. On the contrary, the findings suggest that public media may in fact stimulate overall growth and innovation within the news market.
