PSG Forward Dembélé Limps Off Against Barcelona in Champions League
PSG lost one of its top scorers early, and Barcelona also had to make a first-half change after Dani Olmo appeared to pick up an injury.
- On Tuesday, October 20, 2026, Paris Saint-Germain forward Ousmane Dembele exited the UEFA Champions League match against Barcelona after 19 minutes with an apparent hamstring injury, clutching his left thigh before signaling to the bench.
- Barcelona manager Hansi Flick benched midfielder Rodri for the match at the Parc des Princes, citing the need to manage his workload to ensure the Spaniard is fully fit for Sunday's match against Real Madrid.
- Spanish forward Ferran Torres replaced Dembele following the injury, while Barcelona substituted Dani Olmo after he appeared to suffer an ankle issue in the 27th minute.
- Marc Bernal started in place of the 2024 Ballon d'Or winner, though Rodri remained available on the bench as Barcelona sought to maintain its undefeated record in 11 matches this season.
- Dembele's early exit raises fitness concerns given his history of muscular problems, though he has largely overcome these issues since joining PSG in 2023 and the fixture remains pivotal for qualification hopes.
