- On July 23, 2025, Sony revealed a PS5 system beta update introducing a Power Saver mode and multi-device pairing for DualSense controllers.
- Sony developed Power Saver to reduce console power use by scaling back performance in supported games as part of its net-zero emissions plan by 2040.
- The update enables users to connect a DualSense or DualSense Edge controller with as many as four different gadgets and switch between them using specific button presses, eliminating the need to re-pair each time.
