Prolific shoplifter 'relieved' to be arrested so he could be fed

A prolific shoplifter, Lauren Thomas, has been jailed after pleading guilty to more than a dozen offences of theft from shops in Bridgwater.
Lauren Thomas stole items on 14 separate occasions between December 9 and March 4, according to court records.
Thomas received an eight-week prison sentence at Taunton Magistrates Court for committing offences while on a suspended sentence.
Inspector Sarah Knight stressed that shoplifting is not a victimless crime and assured the public of continued action against such offenders.
