13 Members of Alleged Criminal Network Arrested in Series of Violent Crimes Across Ontario
Thirteen arrested in Project Wrangler face over 150 charges for violent crimes including shootings and homicide across Ontario and Quebec, police said.
- On Dec. 8, 2025, York Regional Police announced 13 arrests and over 150 charges linked to a criminal network at a news conference at York Regional Police headquarters in Aurora, Ont.
- The probe, called Project Wrangler, began in spring of 2025 and police said the coalition of adult men recruited youths as young as 14 for profit-motivated violence.
- Investigators also seized four guns and executed six search warrants across five locations, police said, linking shootings including rounds fired into the London Health Sciences Centre emergency department and a Rimouski, Que. homicide.
- Two suspects remain sought under Canada-wide warrants: a 24-year-old with ties to Peel Region and the Greater Toronto Area and a 20-year-old with ties to Hamilton and Kitchener, while one faces more than 20 charges, police said.
- Officials highlighted multi-agency cooperation among York, Peel, Toronto and London police services, Ontario Provincial Police and Sûreté du Québec, which `significantly disrupted` a network that left hundreds of victims, police said.
