During the last hours and as part of the Institutional Action Plan Prison Violence 2026, Gendarmerie carried out simultaneous searches in the prisons of the 16 regions of the country. In the region of Arica and Parinacota, the procedures were carried out in the Prison Complex and the Women’s Prison Centre. The regional director of Gendarmería, Colonel Fabiola Torres, highlighted the professionalism of the staff who intervened in both penal units.
