- These cuts follow multiple price hikes in recent months triggered by elevated global energy prices amid ongoing tensions in West Asia, which disrupted international LPG supply dynamics.
- Domestic LPG prices remain unchanged for 14.2-kg cylinders, while OMCs reduced the 5-kg Free Trade LPG cylinder price by Rs 13 in Delhi to Rs 808.50.
- Minister of State for Petroleum and Natural Gas Suresh Gopi told the Lok Sabha that implicit subsidies exceeding Rs 500 per cylinder in July maintain domestic LPG retail prices despite global cost pressures.
- Earlier, the Centre eased LPG supply restrictions for commercial and industrial users after fuel availability improved, restoring 50 per cent of supplies previously curtailed to prioritize household consumption.
