The President of the Commission and Antonio Costa, the President of the European Council, have given political, economic and financial support to the new Syrian power in order to accelerate the recovery of the country. In the medium term, Europeans hope for the return of Syrian refugees living in the Old Continent to their country of origin.
For the first time, the EU Commission President has met the transitional government in Syria. Europe will do everything in its power to help with reconstruction.
