A preschool student was removed from programs after a gun was found in a their backpack at The Levite Jewish Community Center on Wednesday.

Birmingham’s Levite Jewish Community Center notified parents and staff in an email Friday that a firearm was discovered in a student’s backpack on campus.The incident occurred in the N.E. Miles Jewish Day School building, which currently houses classrooms for Ilanot preschool, a Cohn Early Childhood Learning Center program.
